It seems that there are two possible approaches we can take with the Current (as opposed to Historical) CCE reports:
A) We can add a Period filter in which case the “Current” reports would flexibly be able to show historical data as well. The reports would show whatever data was submitted alongside the selected period’s requisition. The drawback is that users would rarely see current data. It would only be as current, and as accurate, as the most recent period for which every relevant facility submitted a requisition. If we take this route, I suggest against including the term “Current” in the reports’ titles.
B) We can offer a truly current report about CCE capacity by basing it on the stock-management service. Users would be able to see accurate capacity as of the moment that the report is run. It would be harder to offer a historic Period dropdown, though, and the report would only be relevant to facilities using the stock-management service.
Will you please confirm which of the two approaches to the “Current” reports seem best?
